Equine Spermatozoa.
*Stallion management for breeding purposes *Collection & preparation of chilled semen for A. I. purposes
* Frozen Semen Service Phantom training consists of teaching the stallion to mount a "phantom" mare and ejaculate into an artificial vagina. The stallion is collected one time the first day, and then on two occasions, one hour apart on the next day, or day after. The first of the 2 collections is discarded, serving only as a "clean-up". The second and third collections are taken at least one hour apart, and both samples are evaluated for sperm concentration, motility and morphology.
Once the stallion has been collected it is advisable to evaluate the ability of the stallion's semen . The semen is evaluated & extended using several different extenders & concentrations. Samples are then packed in a shipping container & evaluated at several different times: 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours. *Extension evaluation includes clean out of stallion (3 jumps for experienced stallions needing beginning of the year evaluation) $250.00 Additional Stallion services offered *One time collection ejaculate only $100.00 *One time collection of ejaculate, extension, and analysis $125.00 *Collection, extension, analysis, preparation for transport $150.00. *Collection, extension, test freeze, and evaluation $500.00 *Collection and Freezing for storage per ejaculate $250.00 *Frozen Semen Storage $15.00 a month per stallion (up to 250 straws) Stallion board is $475/month, pro-rated for the number of days he is with us. This includes: Twice daily feeding daily turnout . Exercise program can be arranged Collection charges, as above, apply to semen collections carried out by our personnel.
*Mare care (box stall, private turnout) $75.00 per week or $300.00 per month. *Dry lot ( feed and hay) with other mares $200.00 per month. $56.00 per week. Arrangements for Mare care must be made before beginning of breeding season. Some Breed Registries require a veterinarian to be present at the time of semen collection or insemination of the mare in order to allow registration of the resulting foal. The same is required of semen collected for export, which will also require certain export permits. If these are a requirement, let us know. We will arrange scheduling, and the Veterinarian's and Government fees will be charged out at cost. Please call us to discuss these special requirements further.
